Berkman Project

The HOA of a charming condo community hired me to re-imagine a 1000 sq ft shared courtyard using low-water flowering plants. They had previously considered a desert-scape for ease of maintenance, but preferred a lush meadow vibe. The existing site had areas of poor drainage, shade, and compacted soil which was treated with a compost/mulch blend before adding more than 70 container plants, including Texas Mountain Laurel, Big Muhly, Soft Leaf Yucca, Skeleton-leaf Goldeneye, and Woolly Stemodia. An artful stack of rocks serves as a budget conscious, low maintenance focal point.
